Cult threat forces worker into hiding as manager demands recruitment into confraternity

Fear has gripped the family of Odigie Prince Eddyson Idemudia, a former employee of Junik Nigeria Limited, after he fled to an unknown destination following persistent threats from his manager, Mr. Chinedu Chima, who allegedly attempted to coerce him into joining a secret cult group, the Supreme Eiye Confraternity.
Trouble reportedly began shortly after the company transferred its Benin City branch manager and appointed Mr. Chinedu as the new head. According to credible accounts from family members and a police report, Mr. Chinedu summoned Eddyson and two other workers shortly after his assumption of duty and issued them an ultimatum: join the cult or lose their jobs.
Initially unaware of the meeting's true nature, Eddyson accompanied the group to what turned out to be a cult initiation venue. Upon discovering the group’s identity and activities, he declined to proceed and distanced himself. This act of refusal allegedly infuriated the manager, who began a series of intimidation tactics against him.
One disturbing account revealed that Mr. Chinedu instructed Eddyson to help deposit a sum of money into the bank. Unknown to him, armed men, later believed to be affiliated with the same cult group, were dispatched to intercept and rob him. The incident left Eddyson injured, and despite being the victim, he was fired from his position at the company and told he would have to repay the stolen funds.
Events took a darker turn when the manager visited Eddyson’s family home, demanding repayment and warning them that the young man’s life was in danger unless he joined the cult. It was during this confrontation that Mr. Chinedu allegedly confessed the robbery had been staged by members of the confraternity to scare Eddyson into submission.
Few days later, Eddyson was ambushed again, this time beaten to a pulp by unknown assailants believed to be cult members. They warned him never to involve the police again or face death.
Shaken by these threats and the attack on which took place on October 1st 2014
Fearing for his life, Eddyson disappeared, and Mrs Grace Odigie, Eddyson's mother filed a report at the Benin City Police Division, giving a detailed account of the coercion, threats, and assault on October 9th, 2014. They expressed concerns that he may have been kidnapped or killed.
Compounding the family's distress, Mr. Chinedu continued visiting their home, threatening that the family must repay the missing money in Eddyson's absence. He also reportedly warned that if Eddyson was ever seen again, he would be killed for exposing the cult group’s secrets.
The Benin City Police Division confirmed receipt of the report by Eddyson's mother. Authorities say investigations are ongoing but have yet to disclose further details on Mr. Chinedu’s alleged involvement or steps taken to locate Eddyson.
As the threat of cultism continues to plague communities and workplaces, this case highlights the dangerous lengths some groups go to recruit unwilling members, and the terrifying consequences for those who resist.
