Coalition hails Tinubu over Enitan’s appointment as Head of Service

The Civil Society Groups for Good Governance (CSGGG) has commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Dr Abel Enitan as Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

The President of CSGGG, Mr Dominic Ogakwu, gave the commendation in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday.

Ogakwu said the appointment reflected Tinubu’s recognition of experience, professionalism and competence in strengthening the public service.

He said Enitan was a seasoned public servant whose years of service had equipped him with the experience and administrative competence required for the position.

According to him, Enitan’s extensive experience in the Federal Civil Service has prepared him to consolidate ongoing reforms and improve service delivery.

“Dr Enitan has demonstrated credibility, integrity, professionalism and competence throughout his career in public service.

“His understanding of the system, combined with his commitment to institutional development and nation-building, makes him a perfect fit for this important national assignment,” he said.

Ogakwu said the appointment came at a time when Nigeria needed a more efficient, accountable and result-oriented Civil Service.

He said this was necessary to drive government policies and deliver tangible benefits to Nigerians.

The group expressed confidence that Enitan would prioritise merit, discipline, professionalism, digital transformation and improved service delivery.

It urged him to strengthen accountability and deepen institutional reforms across the Federal Civil Service.

CSGGG congratulated Enitan and urged him to deploy his experience towards building a modern, responsive and productive public service.

The coalition also pledged civil society support for initiatives promoting transparency, accountability, professionalism and effective public service delivery.

News men reports that Enitan succeeds Mrs Didi Walson-Jack, who is due to retire from the Federal Civil Service upon attaining the statutory retirement age of 60.

Enitan, from Osun, is the most senior Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service.

He has served as Permanent Secretary for seven years and seven months, including at the Ministries of Police Affairs and Humanitarian Affairs, and the Office of the Vice President.

He is currently Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, and his appointment takes effect from Aug. 27.
