Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL), operator of the NNPC/CNL Joint Venture, has reaffirmed its dedication to the socio-economic advancement of the Niger Delta through strategic infrastructure partnerships.

The energy major confirmed its active participation in stakeholder dialogues regarding the proposed Escravos to Warri Road Project, collaborating closely with the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the Delta State Government to bring the proposal to fruition.

During a consultative visit to the Delta State Government in Asaba yesterday, Segun Kuteyi, Director and Chief Operating Officer for Chevron Nigeria and Mid-Africa Region, emphasized the transformative potential of the project.

He noted that the construction of the road is expected to significantly enhance regional connectivity and act as a catalyst for economic growth.

Kuteyi stressed that building a strong synergy with the state government throughout the project’s lifecycle is essential for its success.

Chevron’s approach centers on a collaborative framework involving government agencies, local communities, and private sector partners to ensure the delivery of maximum value.

As the primary initiator of the project, the NDDC remains a pivotal stakeholder in these ongoing discussions.

Kuteyi highlighted that the federal government’s Road Infrastructure Development and Refurbishment Investment Tax Credit Scheme (RITCS) provides a viable pathway to incentivize private sector involvement in such critical projects.

The company reiterated that it will continue to engage with the Nigerian government and other key players to bolster the development of the nation's oil and gas industry.

By supporting large-scale infrastructure like the Escravos-Warri Road, CNL aims to contribute to a resilient regional economy and foster long-term stability within the Niger Delta.
