In a bold move to reassert Nigeria’s financial credibility on the global stage, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), in partnership with J.P. Morgan, the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX), and the Africa Private Capital Association (AVCA), hosted a high-impact forum at Nasdaq MarketSite ahead of the IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings.

Titled "The Nigeria Investment Agenda: Pathways for Growth & Global Partnerships," the event gathered top-tier global investors, diaspora leaders, and financial experts to explore Nigeria’s reform trajectory and economic potential.

In a keynote address, CBN Governor Olayemi Cardoso detailed sweeping reforms aimed at monetary tightening, transparent forex markets, and stronger financial governance.

"We inherited a crisis of confidence but chose a different path. We're not turning back," he affirmed, emphasizing a new era of transparency and policy consistency.

In a dynamic fireside chat with Nobel laureate Dr. James Robinson, Cardoso reiterated his mission to restore the CBN’s global credibility, guided by sound economic principles and institutional integrity.

CBN Deputy Governor Muhammad Sani Abdullahi highlighted key indicators of progress, including increased forex turnover and signs of disinflation, attributing these gains to a transparent, rules-based economic framework.

The forum featured a panel of global financial leaders who praised Nigeria’s improving investment climate and governance. Their insights reinforced the rising confidence in Nigeria’s economic outlook.

The event also showcased diaspora engagement, with participation from U.S.-based CBN board members, underscoring the institution’s global outlook and commitment to excellence.

Adviser on Stakeholder Engagement, Dr. Nkiru Balonwu described the forum as a milestone in CBN’s transformation narrative: “It’s about opening the books on the CBN’s story, sharing progress, addressing challenges, and forging sustainable partnerships.”

As the Spring Meetings approach, the CBN’s message is clear: Nigeria is back on the radar, and it’s here to lead with reform, transparency, and renewed global ambition.
