Birnin Kudu to construct modern market in 2023

Birnin Kudu Local Government has earmarked over N3 billion to construct modern market in 2023 against their budget for the year.

The chairman of the council, Alhaji Magaji Yusif Gigo disclosed that the construction of school, mosque and water projects would take large share of the 2023 budgets .

He explained further that the long over stayed issue of water problem that disturbed Birnin Kudu communities has been addressed which consumed more than half of their monthly allocation.

He lamented that every blessed month, the council used to purchase diesel for N51 million for the supply of water and street light, but now, the issue of diesel has been solved .

He explained that Birnin Kudu was among the local government areas that collected the higher grant in the state, but due to water problem and issue of diesel, at the end of the day we end up in zero allocation, the chairman said.

In the area of supporting the sick people in the area, the council monthly keeps two million to support the weak people who can not afford medicine.

Before the coming of our government, the revenue collected was totally down, but now things have started improving and assured changes will come in this new year.

New modern market will be constructed inside Birnin Kudu immediately we pay compensation to people near old motor park, because we have the plan to establish the new motor park out side the town, while the old motor park land will be used in building the new modern market .

The chairman added that agreement has been signed between the council and MTN communication company to establish modern shops which will be leased to communities. The council will use it as source of revenue generation.
