Bernard Doro replaces Yilwatda as Minister

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Dr Bernard Mohammed Doro as the new Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
The appointment follows the elevation of Prof Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda to the position of National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) earlier in July.
In a statement signed by Mr Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the President announced that Dr Doro’s nomination has been forwarded to the Senate for confirmation.

He brings over two decades of multidisciplinary experience in clinical practice, pharmaceutical management, strategic leadership, and community engagement across the United Kingdom and Nigeria.
According to the Presidency, Doro’s vast experience in public health and development initiatives will be instrumental in strengthening the ministry’s efforts to tackle poverty and humanitarian challenges across the country.
The new emirates created under the law include Burra, Duguri, Dambam, Bununu, and Lere, among others.
