Benue Govt to revive Agricultural Training Centre Training Centre
…Announces early payment of workers’ salaries

In continuation with his thank you tour across the 23 local governments, Benue State Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormen Alia announced that his government will revive the defunct Agriculture Training Center Mbatie located in Buruku local government area of the state.
Fr. Alia also announced the payment of workers salaries latest 22nd of every month and not the 25th of every month again.
Alia also assured the cultivation of the 500 hectares of farm land donated to the Benue state government by the Buruku community abandoned over the years by the previous administration this farming season.
The Governor who made the disclosure on Thursday while addressing the traditional rulers in Buruku local government area in continuation with his thank you tour across the 23 local government areas of the state, explained that the abandoned Agriculture Training Center when revived the lost glory of the institution will be restored and the purpose for which it was established would be achieved.
He reiterated his administration’s resolve to improve the welfare of the traditional rulers in the state for maximum productivity in the discharge of their respective constitutional responsibilities, as he was already in a close talk with the Tiv paramount ruler on possible ways to amending the state chieftaincy law.
Governor Alia assured that the traditional rulers in the state under his leadership will ensure the restoration of the lost glory of traditional rulers and cautioned traditional rulers against involvement in partisan politics.
“As a traditional son and the Governor of the state I will ensure that the norms and customs of the Tiv nation must return to our land. The selection of new traditional rulers in Tiv land must not be influenced by politicians and the process of selection must follow all due traditional process and by doing so the lost glory of our chieftaincy will be restored,” Alia stressed.
He announced awards of contracts for Tyowanye – Ugah – Tse Adingi – Mkovur and Tyogbenda – Jingi – Ugah roads all in Buruku local government area of the state.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the construction of the River Buruku bridge and I am working closely with him to ensure that the project is executed according to standard and on time,” Alia maintained.
Earlier, His royal Majesty Ter Buruku Chief Moses Hanior eulogised the governor of the state for his pragmatic and uncommon leadership disposition as shown in the early procurement and sales of fertiliser and other farm inputs at subsidised rates, prompt payment of workers salaries, pensions and gratuities.
“Our son, another modest achievement you have done very well is your fight against insecurity in the state particularly in Buruku local government area. You have taken the security of the Buruku community very seriously and we are proud of you and remain supportive at all times,” He stated.
Ter Buruku also appealed to the Governor for the construction of a royal palace for Ter Buruku for seamless discharge of his traditional responsibility, improved welfare for the traditional rulers.
