Bankole Taiwo, Abeokuta
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ogun State and an international trade expert based in Poland, Omooba Adekunle Adebayo Ayoola has described as very shocking and painful the demise of the publisher of NigerianNewsDirect, Dr Samuel Ibiyemi.
Omooba Adekunle Ayoola, in a statement made available to journalists in Abeokuta on Thursday, revealed that he was really sad that the media guru could leave so early in the midst of acute shortage of thorough bred professionals who are not only ready to groom and mentor the young ones but also ready to give them wings to fly and provide them daily bread through direct employment into NigerianNewsDirect.
Ayoola, founder of Omooba Obaruwa Foundation, said that he might actually not have met the late indefatigable publisher in person but he had at one time or the other leveraged on the acceptability of his media enterprise, that is, NigerianNewsDirect to push out his thoughts and other activities covering nation building and expanding the frontiers of socio-economic and political development in the country.
The international trade expert said “I am seriously sad to pick up the news of the death of Dr Samuel Ibiyemi, the publisher of NigerianNewsDirect. It is not a news item one had thought would be on the news stand by now given his relative young age of 56 and the fact that such a brilliant journalist and politician that he was are so much in demand as we are trying to build a Nigeria of our dream.
“I may not have met him (Dr Samuel Ibiyemi) in person but I have really enjoyed the impact of his thriving legacy, NigerianNewsDirect on my career as an international trade and security expert, politician and philantropist. I sincerely offer my condolences to the Ibiyemis and my prayer is that the almighty God will continue to uphold you and grant you fortitude to bear this great loss”.
