ATBU matriculates 288 affilliated students

On Monday,  The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi, , matriculated no fewer than 288 students under its affiliation with the state owned Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic (ATAP) Bauchi.

Prof. Muhammad Abdulaziz, the Vice Chancellor of the university, represented by Prof. Mansur Malumfashi, said the students would pursue various degree programmes of the institution.

Abdulaziz listed the courses as Automobile Technology, Building Technology, Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Metalwork, Woodwork, Business Education and Computer Education.

He explained that the matriculation was a cardinal requirement qualifying the admitted students, and said the event was for the 2019/2020 academic session.

The vice chancellor warned the students against inimical practices during and after their graduation from the institution.

He stressed that ATBU would not condone indiscipline, vandalism, cultism, examination malpractices or any recalcitrant behaviour.

He said that the university had zero tolerance for indiscipline, adding: “we award academic certificates based on character and learning.

“You must always abide by the basic COVID-19 protocols to ensure a healthy environment.”

In his remarks, the Rector of the polytechnic, Alhaji Saidu Adamu, commended the university for its support and cooperation which enabled its affiliated programmes to succeed.

He appreciated the Bauchi State Government for its regular support to the polytechnic, especially for especially for providing it with teaching and learning materials as well as improving the staff and students’ welfare.

Newsmen reports that the Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic Bauchi had last week matriculated no fewer than 8,085 students for the 2019/2020 academic session.
