Anambra Govt partners WHO on improved healthcare delivery
Gov. Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra says his administration is ready to partner with the World Health Organization (WHO) in the area of providing quality and affordable healthcare to residents of the state.
Soludo said this when he received a delegation of WHO officials led by Dr. Walter Mulombo, its representative in Nigeria in Awka on Thursday.
He said his administration was committed to a healthy and productive population, adding that WHO had a pivotal role to play towards achieving the objective.
The governor pleaded with the visiting WHO representative to include Anambra in its huge agenda and assistance to states.
He commended WHO for its effort towards eradication of tropical diseases which had adversely affected the African continent.
“I assure that under my watch, actions based on interventions from WHO, will be backed with results, and my administration will deploy the use of data in measuring such results,” he said.
On his part, Mulombo promised to work with the Anambra government in any way necessary especially in primary healthcare.
He said the world body would extend the partnership to other states for overall improved healthcare in the country.
