President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed retired Major General Adeyinka A. Famadewa as Special Adviser on Homeland Security.
This move is aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s internal security framework and improving inter-agency collaboration against evolving threats.
The appointment, announced through the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), highlights the administration’s strategy to reinforce intelligence coordination.
General Famadewa is a seasoned strategist with over three decades of experience in counter-terrorism and intelligence fusion.
He previously served as the Principal General Staff Officer to the National Security Adviser (ONSA) between 2015 and 2021.
During his tenure at ONSA, Famadewa was credited with spearheading the Intelligence Fusion Centre (IFC), a platform designed to streamline information sharing between the DSS, NIA, Nigeria Police, and the Armed Forces.
The Presidency expressed confidence that his expertise would advance the Renewed Hope agenda regarding public safety and national security.
