Lagos State Governor and Chairman of the South-West Governors Forum, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has urged residents of Osun State to vote for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, in Saturday’s governorship election.
Sanwo-Olu made the call while speaking during the APC Mega Rally held in Osogbo ahead of the election. The rally was attended by the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, governors and other leaders of the party.
The Lagos governor said the APC candidate had acquired the experience needed to lead the state, having served the people of Osun in different capacities over the years.
“Our candidate, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, has served the people of Osun over the years and understands the responsibility that comes with public office,” Sanwo-Olu said.
He described Oyebamiji as a candidate whose experience and record in public service had prepared him for the responsibilities of the governorship.
According to him, the APC remains confident in the ability of its candidate to provide purposeful leadership and contribute to the development of the state.
“As Chairman of the South-West Governors Forum, I am glad to stand with our party,” he said.
Sanwo-Olu also expressed confidence in Oyebamiji’s readiness to serve if elected, urging party supporters and other residents to participate actively in the election.
“We are confident in AMBO and believe he is ready to serve the people of Osun with purpose and dedication,” he stated.
He called on eligible voters across the state to come out in large numbers on Saturday and exercise their civic responsibility by voting for the APC candidate.
The rally forms part of the party’s final mobilisation efforts ahead of the election, as political parties intensify their campaigns and appeal to voters across the state.
Sanwo-Olu urged Osun voters to consider the experience and commitment of the APC candidate as they make their choice at the polls.
“I urge the good people of Osun State to come out on Saturday and vote for the APC,” he said.
Sanwo-Olu said he remained confident that Oyebamiji would provide purposeful leadership if elected, adding that the APC candidate had the experience and commitment needed to serve the people of Osun State.
