More candidates have continued to emerge under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections across the country.
The development follows ongoing party primaries and consultations aimed at selecting standard-bearers for executive and legislative positions ahead of the polls.
In Niger State, the African Democratic Congress conducted its governorship primary, producing Dr. Mohammed Kpautagi as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 election.
Party officials said the exercise was peaceful and conducted in line with the party’s constitution and electoral guidelines.
Meanwhile, in Gombe State, the former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, emerged as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party following his affirmation by delegates during the party’s primary held on Tuesday.
Announcing the outcome of the exercise, the Chairman of the PDP Gombe Electoral Panel, Gregory Yenlong, declared Pantami the sole candidate for the contest and confirmed his emergence in accordance with the party’s guidelines.
Political activities continue to gather momentum nationwide as parties intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections, with more aspirants expected to emerge for various positions in the coming months.
