The Lagos State Resilience Office (LASRO) has received a delegation from the European Union on a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening collaboration on resilience-building initiatives.
Welcoming the delegation, the Chief Resilience Officer, Folayinka Dania, outlined the Office’s mandate and ongoing efforts to address shocks such as climate change, urbanisation, and infrastructure challenges.
She noted that LASRO prioritises interventions based on identified risks while engaging stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of resilience programmes.
Dania also highlighted the development of Business Continuity Plans for Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, as well as the ongoing review of the Lagos Resilience Strategy to reflect current realities.
The visiting EU delegates said the purpose of the visit was to better understand LASRO’s operations and identify areas for potential support.
Discussions centred on key areas including transportation, flooding, urban renewal, and climate adaptation.
Both parties expressed optimism about future collaboration to enhance Lagos State’s capacity to withstand and recover from disruptions.
