Lagos to kick-off yearly ministerial press briefing on Monday

The Lagos State Government will on Monday kick-off it’s annual month-long Ministerial Press Briefing.

The annual briefing is usually hosted to provide opprtunitues for Commissioners and Political appontees in the Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration to present a scorecard of their achievements.

Announcing this year’s edition on Saturday, May 9, 2026, the Lagos state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Gbenga Omotoso noted that the briefing is expected to provide Lagos residents with detailed updates on projects, policies, and programmes implemented across different sectors of the state.

According to Omotoso, the annual exercise serves as a platform for Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs, to present “Facts and Figures” on the achievements recorded under the various pillars of the THEMES+ Agenda.

He further noted that the engagement would also offer Lagosians the opportunity to assess ongoing efforts aimed at improving the welfare of residents across the state.

“This year’s edition is particularly significant as it precedes the general elections. The exercise will enable the public to assess the performance of the Babajide Sanwo-Olu/Obafemi Hamzat administration, appreciate the milestones recorded, and get an insight into the plans for a Greater Lagos,” the statement read.

The state government added that the media briefing would further strengthen public understanding of the administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance.

According to the statement, the achievements recorded so far by the administration reflect purposeful leadership and responsible governance in the state.
