Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has declared that the state will become too hot for criminal elements, assuring residents that his administration will leave no stone unturned to guarantee the protection of lives and property.
The Governor gave this assurance over the weekend in Ado-Ekiti shortly after a meeting with the Commander of the 12 Brigade Lokoja, Brigadier-General Kazeem Umar Sidi, whose command oversees Kogi and Ekiti states.
He emphasized that the government is fully prepared to stamp out criminality and maintain peace, law, and order across all parts of the state.
Governor Oyebanji urged residents not to panic, stating that he is working around the clock with security personnel to ensure public safety.
He also cautioned those in the habit of raising false alarms and spreading fake news about fictional attacks to desist from such mischievous acts.
While maintaining that Ekiti remains one of the safest states in the country, the Governor said his administration will spare no cost to protect the people and sustain a peaceful atmosphere.
He expressed gratitude to the Federal Government and security agencies for their sustained support and collaboration.
He also promised that the state government will continue providing the necessary resources to ensure a secure environment.
“This visit by the Brigadier-General to Ekiti State is to discuss security matters, and it shows that the Federal Government is concerned about securing all of us in the country.”
“We have compared notes and agreed on the steps to be taken to ensure everyone in the state is protected.”
“My charge to the people of Ekiti is to put their minds at rest. This government will leave no stone unturned to ensure citizens are protected, and this sends a strong signal to all criminal elements in the state. This state will be too hot for them, especially as we move toward elections in three weeks,” he added.
