Two persons, Adamu Haboy, 24 and Godwin Sheu, 20, were on Wednesday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan over an alleged house breaking and stealing.
The duo whose addresses were not provided, were charged with conspiracy, house breaking, stealing and malicious damage.
They, however pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Elisha Tellang said the defendants committed the offences on Aug.1, at noon, at Idi-Ishin area of Ibadan.
Tellang alleged that the defendants broke and entered the house of one Mr Ayodeji Thomas.
He alleged that the defendants stole electric wires, light fittings and aluminum window frames, all worth N1,750,000, belonging to Thomas.
Tellang also alleged that the defendants damaged the roofing sheet and ceiling of the house, worth N300,000.
He said the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 516, 412, 390(9) and 451 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Oluwaferanmi Raji granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 each and two sureties each in like sum.
She adjourned the case until Sept. 17, for mention.
