Alleged N13.7bn fraud: Osun APC, Adeleke’s Aide clash over calls for Akinleye’s resignation

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has intensified its call for the resignation of Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, the Chief of Staff to Governor Ademola Adeleke following his alleged involvement in the N13.7 billion payroll fraud rocking the state.

The opposition party in a statement labeled Akinleye as the worst public officer in the state’s 34-year history, citing his alleged involvement in the payroll fraud controversy.

The APC’s Director of Media, Kola Olabisi, pointed to leaked audio of a confrontation between Akinleye and Saadat Ottun, CEO of Sally Tibbot Consulting, as evidence of gross deficiency and managerial incompetence within the administration.

Reacting, the Governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, dismissed the APC’s demands as melancholic tantrums driven by political depression.

Rasheed defended the Chief of Staff as a consensus builder and a stickler for due process whose leadership has contributed to the Governor’s high approval ratings.

He further clarified that Akinleye acted as a gatekeeper to protect the state from being defrauded by the consulting firm, asserting that the opposition is merely attempting to blackmail a performing administration to mask its own past failures.
