ADC dismisses fraudulent video claiming authorization of nomination form sales

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed a viral video alleging that its National Chairman, Senator David Mark, authorized the sale of nomination forms through an unofficial stakeholder.

In a press release issued by the party’s National Headquarters and signed by National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC characterized the video as a deceptive attempt to create internal friction ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The party clarified that all formal communications from the National Chairman or the National Working Committee must be channeled exclusively through the National Publicity Secretary to be considered valid.

The statement further emphasized that the mandate for selling nomination forms for presidential, governorship, and legislative positions belongs solely to the Office of the National Organising Secretary.

Forms for State House of Assembly positions are to be managed by the respective State Party Headquarters. The party warned that any collection or sale of forms outside of these recognized offices constitutes a violation of both the party constitution and the Electoral Act.

The ADC urged its members and the general public to ignore directives from unauthorized individuals or impersonators.

It also cautioned that those responsible for spreading misinformation would face disciplinary measures.

The party concluded by reaffirming its commitment to internal discipline as it continues its preparations for the upcoming election cycle.
