Stop clamouring for disintegration, BPE Executive Director tasks Nigerians
…Says, alot of economic reforms ongoing

The Executive Director of Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE), Hon. Michael Magaji has called on Nigerians to shun the idea of disintegration as the unity and peaceful coexistence of one Nigeria is our priority.
He stressed that there is a lot of economic reforms by the President Ahmed Tinubu’s administration that Nigerians will soon enjoy better dividends of democracy.
He made the disclosure while speaking to Newsmen at the 2024 End of Year programme tagged ‘Taraba Day’ held in Abuja yesterday.
The Executive Director said ” We will not accept disintegration we believe in one Nigeria, people fought a lot of battles to keep this country together. Nigerians are rich in their diversities and we must understand and manage our diversity to stop all these clamours for division because there is no country in the world that is homogeneous. Therefore, we must understand our differences to build our country and state to promote peace, unity that will lead to development.
” We don’t subscribe to any form of disintegration or dismemberment of our country and indeed our state.”
On the issue of economic challenges, the ED explained that the President has initiated a lot of reforms going on to address the challenges for more productivity and infrastructural development.
He said ” there are a lot of reforms ongoing though there maybe hitches experienced by Nigerians but these reforms are for good ultimately because we have to make economic reforms which are not new and the government is doing more in providing palliatives for the people.
“It is also a collective responsibility of not just the Federal government but the subregional (state and local) governments to play their parts in deployment of resources to the people. Financial autonomy Laws have been passed to give more resources to grassroots masses and we are hopeful that the funds will trickle down to witness more development at that level.
“The President has a very good reforms which we need the support of the subregional governments to implement these reforms considering the fact that there is additional revenue they’re getting to disburses to the masses.
” There are more resources now to take care of the people but it is the governances of these resources how it gets the people that we must address.”
Speaking on the challenges of insecurity, he stressed that it is a collective responsibility we must also work and support the government and security agencies on issues around insurgency, terrorism and any form of criminality by identifying and reporting such incidences.
Mr. Magaji enjoined Taraba indigene to eliminate their differences but reunite in harmony with the common interest of strengthening the growth and development of the state.
Earlier, the Chairman of Tarabans Resident in Abuja, Amb. Daniel D. Likam said ” we are planning to have partnership with some various media houses, relevant federal government apointees at the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to help us showcase Taraba at the national and international levels.
” We shall be witnessing some strategic changes and decisions to protect our indigene, state and national interest in order to drum up support for our people in government who face injustice, unfair treatment in their various offices and we’re ensuring that our slots in job opportunities are protected. “
