EFCC nabs 20 suspected internet fraudsters in Abuja
20 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud have been apprehended by operatives from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The agency’s spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, announced this development in a statement released on Tuesday in Abuja.
The arrests took place on Saturday in the Ologolo and Idi-Ishin regions of Ibadan, Oyo State.
The EFCC acted on intelligence gathered regarding the fraudulent activities of these suspects.
“The suspects are Mustapha Adeyemi Afeez, Oluyombo Ayomide, Ayanwola Tobi, Oni Promise, Osifeso Tijesunimi David, Anthony Daniel, OLanrenwaju Adebowale and Ezekiel Olawole Kolawole.
“Others include Abaka Clitus, Adeyinka Ajayi, Gbolahan Ayinde, Abeeb Bidemi, Augustine Okoh, Ayanwonla Olaoluwa, Azeez Olamide, Ayanwola Segun Victor, Onifade Olabisi, Abaka Moses, Aladelusi Temitope Mathew and Abolaji Ajibola.
“Items recovered include three Toyota Camry cars, unregistered grey-coloured Toyota RAV 4, laptop computers, and several mobile phones, among others,” he said.
He said that they would be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded.
