Boy docked for allegedly defiling 8-year-old girl

A 15-year-old boy was on Thursday docked in a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for allegedly defiling an eight-year-old girl.

The police charged the minor with defilement and sexual assault.

The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Akpan Nko, told the court that the minor committed the offence on Feb. 9, at No7, Oladejo Str., Off Mercy Str., Araromi, Badagry area of Lagos.

Nko said that the boy also sexually assaulted her.

He said the girl’s mother reported the matter at the Police Station.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 137, 170 and 261 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Patrick Adekomiya, admitted the minor to bail in the sum of N300, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

Adekomiya ordered one of the sureties must be the father of the minor.

He adjourned the case until March 28, for hearing.
