Enugu govt. refurbishes 8 ambulances to enahnce healthcare delivery

The Enugu State Government has refurbished eight state-of-the-art ambulances as part of its efforts to enhance healthcare delivery in the state.

Inaugurating the facilities on Thursday in Enugu, Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi said that his administration would continue to deliver quality healthcare services to the citizenry.

The governor, represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr Festus Uzor, directed the immediate deployment of the ambulances to strategic locations to serve the emergency needs of the people.

“The ambulances will help to sustain desirable response to rescue operations and general healthcare delivery,’’ Ugwuanyi said.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Health, Prof. Ikechukwu Obi, declared the ambulances fit for medical operations.

“The state emergency response team is now more empowered to respond to emergency medical situations,’’ Obi said.

Also, the Commissioner for Transport, Mr Mathias Ekweremadu, whose ministry supervised the refurbishment of the ambulances, thanked the governor for the confidence he had in the ministry.

“The ministry will continue to support government’s transport policy for a safer business environment in the state,’’ Ekweremadu said.
