3rd anniversary: I have fulfilled all major promises — Eno declares

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has declared that his administration has fulfilled major promises made to the people of the state as he marked his third anniversary in office on Friday.

Speaking at the Government House during his anniversary address titled “Promises Made and Promises Fulfilled, Onward to Arise 2.0,” Eno thanked Akwa Ibom people for their support, prayers and unity, noting that the state was witnessing remarkable growth across sectors.

The governor said his administration had executed projects in agriculture, infrastructure, healthcare, education, tourism, aviation and youth empowerment under the Arise Agenda development blueprint.

He disclosed that the government recently launched an Oil Palm Tree Crop Revolution and Agricultural Equipment Leasing Company to boost food production and support farmers. According to him, over N2 billion in grants and farm inputs had also been distributed to farmers.

Eno further stated that his administration had completed or commenced over 1,300 kilometres of roads with 40 bridges, while rural communities had benefited from roads, markets, healthcare centres and schools.

In the education sector, he said the state continued to fund free and compulsory education, recruited teachers and upgraded the Akwa Ibom College of Education into a University of Education.

The governor also revealed that over 2,854 medical personnel had been recruited, while more than 200,000 residents had been enrolled into the state’s health insurance scheme.

On aviation, Eno said Ibom Air recently operated its maiden international flight to Accra, Ghana, while additional aircraft would soon join the airline’s fleet.

He added that over N83 billion in gratuities and pension arrears inherited by the administration had been paid, assuring workers and retirees that the remaining backlog would be cleared before the end of his first term.

The governor urged politicians to avoid violence and divisive politics ahead of the 2027 elections, stressing that peace and unity remained paramount in the state.

He reaffirmed his commitment to continue governing with fairness and inclusiveness, promising to deepen development efforts through the proposed “Arise 2.0” agenda if re-elected in 2027.
