27 Council Chairmen commend Gov. Namadi on reform of Hisbah board

Chairmen of the 27 Local Government Councils in Jigawa State have commended Governor Umar Namadi for his foresight to reform Hisbah in the State.

The commendation came during an interactive session with the Chairmen of the Local Government Councils, members of the Council of Ulama, and other stakeholders in Hadejia, Kazaure, Gumel and Ringim Emirates.

The Jigawa State Hisbah review committee headed by Malam Bala Ibrahim  who is the Chairman of the Committee and the Secretary to the State Government assured of its commitment to work with various stakeholders of the society to come up with recommendations that will help the state government to improve the operations of Hisba board in the State.

Malam Bala Ibrahim said the Committee was set up by Governor Umar Namadi to overhaul the Hisbah’s legal framework, such as the Hisbah Advisory Committee Law and other related legal documents, writing changes or new laws or suggesting that the current law stay the same, finding problems and suggesting possible solutions, and making any other suggestions for making the State Hisbah more efficient and effective.

At the Palaces of the Emirs of Hadejia, Kazaure, Gumel and Ringim, the Chairman of the Committee explained that the Committee was on a sensitisation visit to Emirates, adding that it is therefore imperative to solicit the support and blessing of the royal fathers.

In their response, the Emirs assured the Committee for the backing of their Palaces and the entire people of the State.

The Royal fathers explained that they will do everything possible to ensure that Hisba played a pivotal role in addressing social vices in society.

At an interactive session with Local Government Council Chairmen and other stakeholders, the Committee restated its commitment to the discharge of its assigned responsibilities with honesty and fairness.

The Chairman of the Committee said his committee is ready to receive meaningful advice from individuals and organisations to achieve the desired objectives.

The Committee urged those who have contribution to utilise the window opened for submission of memoranda saying such action would help the committee to come up with recommendations that will help the Government improve the operations of Hisba in the State.

In their separate remarks at the session, the Chairmen of the 27 Local Government Councils in the State commended Governor Umar Namadi for his foresight to reform Hisbah in the State.

The Council Chairmen also commended the Governor for his foresight and commitment in upholding morals based on our Islamic teachings.

They lamented the high level of moral decadence in society, which gave birth to so many cases of drug abuse, rape, and abandoned babies, which, according to them, Hisba played a pivotal role in addressing these challenges.

During the visit, the Chairman of the Committee, Malam Bala Ibrahim launched a brand new patrol Vehicle donated to Hisbah by Mudassir Musa, the Chairman,Garki Local Government Council.

While launching the Vehicle, the SSG commended Mudassir Musa and urged his colleagues to emulate the gesture.

Similarly, the Committee has also commended Chairman of Ringim Local Government Council, Shehu Sule Udi for the Renovation of Hisbah office in Ringim Local Government Area.

The Committee has also commended Chairman of Sule Tankarkar Local Government Council, Saleh Ahmed Danzomo for his untiring commitment towards addressing Hisbah challenges in Sule Tankarkar Local Government Area.
