First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu on Wednesday launched the Tinubu Torchbearers (TTB), a political mobilisation group within the All Progressives Congress (APC), aimed at strengthening grassroots support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The launch, held at the Old Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, drew APC women leaders and stakeholders from across the country.

Addressing participants, the First Lady urged women to champion the administration’s achievements and take the Renewed Hope Agenda to every community, ward and polling unit nationwide.

She described women as the backbone of grassroots mobilisation and charged members of the group to communicate government programmes effectively and consistently.

According to her, the TTB is built on the principles of service, patriotism and collective responsibility, adding that public awareness is essential to the success of ongoing reforms in agriculture, infrastructure, healthcare, education, security and job creation.

Sen. Oluremi Tinubu said President Tinubu’s administration was committed to repositioning the country through bold reforms and stressed that platforms such as the TTB would help translate government policies into tangible benefits for citizens.

The First Lady also praised APC women for their contributions during recent party primaries, describing the exercise as largely peaceful.

In a major announcement, she pledged personal vehicles to APC women leaders in Abia, Anambra, Bauchi, Osun and Oyo states to support grassroots mobilisation efforts.

APC National Women Leader, Dr Mary Alile Idele, said the initiative would strengthen advocacy, voter education and civic engagement across the nation’s 774 local government areas, while other party leaders hailed it as a platform for deepening support for the administration.
