By Akintunde Jacobs, Akure

Members of the campaign groups working towards the victory of the Presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP) Peter Obi, in the forthcoming general elections, ‘Peter Obi 2023 Support Movement,’ met in Akure, the Ondo State capital, to strategise on how to win the state for the candidate.

While addressing members, Local Government and State Executives of the party on Wednesday in Akure, the National Chairman of the party, Barrister Julius Abure said the party was fully ready to rescue the country from its comatose.

Abure, who was represented by his Deputy, Lamidi Bashiru, urged the members and executives not to rest on their oars until their candidate, Peter Obi is declared winner of the Presidential election.

According to him, “The purpose of this meeting is to identify ourselves and to support Peter Obi’s victory.

“We are here today to discuss on how our Presidential candidate, Peter Obi will emerge in the forthcoming general election. In our party, Labour Party, we are very much focused.

“Nigeria is already in comatose state and we need someone who can help us to rescue this country and the only person is Peter Obi.

“On the day of election, you will not see Peter Obi’s face but once you have seen Labour Party logo on the ballot paper, you have seen Peter Obi and we should make sure that we vote for Labour Party, protect and guard our votes so that they will not steal our votes.”

In their resolutions, groups and members of the party were charged to explore all opportunities within their reach to garner more support for the Labour Party candidate so that he could takeover from President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
