2023: Ile-Ife candidates pledge peace, unity in general elections

Ife Indigenes political candidates contesting for Osun State House of Assembly and House of Representatives have pledged peace and unity during the incoming general elections.

The candidates made the pledge during Ife Political Debate’ 23 organised by Ife Youths Organization in collaboration with Ife Ooye North America, at Oba Okunade Sijuwade Memorial Hall, Enuwa, on Monday in Ile-Ife.

Engr Banjamin Adereti, the House of Representatives candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC), while addressing journalists after the debate said that all candidates are siblings.

He said that there was no cause for alarm, adding that God’s will, would surely be fulfilled, for their representatives at Osogbo and Abuja are to serve the people.

He warned their followers against violence and bloodshed before, during and after the elections, saying there’s no gain in wasting lives and properties.

Also, Hon. Abimbola Taofeek Ajilesoro, the House of Representative candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) asked electorates to vote for the candidates of their choice and ensure peaceful elections.

He called on electorates to behave well on election day, for election would come and go, life goes on.

Other candidates who spoke at the event are Hon Oluwabusayo  Adeyera, House of Representative candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Engr Abiola Awoyeye, candidate of the PDP for  House of Assembly, Osun State and Hon. Adeyinka Adejobi, APC candidate, Osun  House of Assembly, Ife Central state constituency promised to provide jobs for youths, sound education, healthcare services,  payment of retirees, women empowerment, welfare of aged and soft loan for market men and women among others.
