2023 election: We have no trouble with SWAGA, Osinbajo — TSG

By Olaseinde Gbenga, Abuja

The Head of Media and Publicity Tinubu Support Group (TSG), Tosin Adeyanju, has debunked a conflicting story peddled around on social media that Tinubu Support Group, SWAGA and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo are in a cold war, insisting that Tinubu Support Groups are result driven for Asiwaju’s 2023 presidency.

Tosin Adeyanju, in a statement issued on Friday, restated that the conference of Tinubu Support Groups was “to identify with groups working for our principal and as well to keep the groups abreast on recent developments, policy, direction and advice.”

Earlier on Friday, there were reports speculating  a crisis between Tinubu Support Group and SWAGA over harmonisation.

He described the publication as a mischievous attempt to drag Tinubu camp into controversies and urged Nigerians and especially Tinubu loyalists not to fall for the mischief.

He said that all groups will retain their identity and function, and continue to do the work they have started in their various localities.

“Our attention has, however, been drawn to a report in an online newspaper alleging that harmonisation had worsened a phantom cold war between Tinubu Support Group (TSG) and South West Agenda (SWAGA).

“According to Tosin, this is  a malicious and unfounded news created to cause unnecessary attention. Tinubu Support Groups and other support groups are wholly committed to the progressive ideology of the Tinubu political family and we remain focus on the task ahead.

“There has never been and there will never be war in whatsoever form between our group (TSG) and any other support group. Our political family remains and will forever remain strong. And we are focused in our commitment to building and maintaining a cohesive political party ambition of our principal,” Tosin said.

He noted that TSG was formed by Majority of National Assembly members and Asiwaju’s political associates in October 2020 and not December 2021 as reported in the media.

Meanwhile, the group also lamented that their Principal, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is in good condition with all those he had mentored including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

“Our principal already declared to run for Presidency come 2023 and we are optimistic that all those who graduated from his political school of thoughts including the Vice President will support his ambition.

“We are not bothered, we are confident and we know that in 2023, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be the President of Nigeria.”
