‎Over 1,000 delegates from Commonwealth countries and global investment communities are slated to participate in the third edition of the Invest Lagos Summit, the Lagos State Government has revealed.

‎The summit, themed “Lagos: Business Gateway to Africa,” is scheduled to hold on June 8 and 9, 2026, at Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island.

‎Speaking at a press briefing, the Lagos State Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Folashade Bada Ambrose-Medebem noted that the event is being organised in partnership with the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council and other stakeholders.

‎She explained that the summit has evolved into a major platform for investment matchmaking, policy dialogue, and capital mobilisation, attracting investors, policymakers, and development partners across Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

‎According to her, discussions will focus on key sectors such as infrastructure, manufacturing, agriculture, technology, energy transition, tourism, logistics, and real estate, among others.

‎Ambrose-Medebem added that a key feature of the summit will be the Governors’ Investment Showcase, designed to connect state governments with global investors and development institutions.

‎She noted that Lagos, with its large population, growing economy, and expanding infrastructure, remains strategically positioned as a preferred hub for business and enterprise in Africa.

‎Also speaking, Co-chairman of the Technical Committee on Invest Lagos 3.0, Toyosi Akerele, said this year’s edition will place strong emphasis on technology and innovation.

‎She disclosed that an AI-powered platform will be used to stream sessions in real time for global participants, while students from Lagos State University and other institutions will support the summit’s operations as part of youth engagement efforts.

‎Akerele further revealed that over 400 foreign delegates will tour major investment sites in Lagos, including the Lekki Free Trade Zone, Dangote Refinery, Lekki Deep Sea Port, and key rail infrastructure projects.

‎She added that the tours are aimed at showcasing Lagos’ industrial capacity and ongoing infrastructure development to potential investors.
