By Mike Adebayo, Ado-Ekiti

The Ekiti South Development Agenda has reaffirmed its stand against those claiming that the quest of the Ekiti South people on slot in 2022 is ingenuine and strange, saying anybody laying claim of not knowing what zoning entails is a bad student of political history in Ekiti state and the nation as a whole

The group in a statement made available to Nigerian NewsDirect in Ado-Ekiti by their coordinator, Comrade ldowu Afuye, said in Ekiti State in 2006, the two major political parties picked their gubernatorial candidate from Ekiti North, which produced Dr Kayode Fayemi in the All progressive congress, and Asiwaju Segun Oni in the Peoples Democratic Party, and thus technically zoned governorship to Ekiti North.

Afuye said the agitation of the Ekiti South people is legitimate, thus nobody or group of people can raise unnecessary eyesbrow to the quest. Even the Kingship or Chieftancy in our communities are rotational among ruling houses.

He further said the arguments in certain quarters, that the Ekiti south people were lazy as unfounded, saying sons and daughters of the area are currently working assiduously and making waves in their various Political parties.

He said the group is only complementing and will continue to compliment the efforts of various one of them who are aspiring to represent the Ekiti south People in 2022.

There cannot be peace, development and progress without equity, fairness and justice, therefore it is in the best interest of the state to have the next governor from Ekiti South Senatorial district.

The Ekiti south said the likes of Professor Olusola Eleka, Hon. Kayode Adaramodu, Senator Biodun Olujimi in the people’s democratic party (PDP) and the likes of Rt Hon Femi Bamisile, Surveyor Abiodun Aluko, Dr Wole Oluyede, Hon. Bamidele Faparusi, Hon. Makinde Araoye, Hon. Yemi Adaramodu, and others remain sellable candidates in the rulling All progressive congress (APC)  ahead of the 2022 Ekiti governorship polls.

The group said they are currently on sensitisation of the two other Senatorial district to support the Ekiti south people, to attain governorship in 2022, Afuye, the coordinator of the group submitted.
