Zenith Bank leads equities market trade, as investors gain N26.87bn

Zenith Bank on Thursday led trading on the Nigerian equities market.

The financial institution traded the most valued stocks on the market with N694.17m units.

Also, investors gained N26.87billion as the market closed positively.

The NGX All-Share Index (ASI) advanced by 0.07 percent leaving it now at 38.64 percent.

The ASI closed at 71,052.85 basis points, compared to the previous day’s loss of 0.09 percent, which closed at 71,003.98 basis points. The NGX Market CAP also recorded a gain of N26.87billion in Naira terms.

Meanwhile, the total volume traded advanced by 31.57 percent to close at 563.71 million, valued at N3.44 billion and traded in 6,579 deals. UNIVINSURE was the most traded stock by volume with N164.30m, while ZENITHBANK was the most traded stock by value with N694.17m units traded.

The Gote Index closed flat at 188.47, while the Toni index declined by 0.01 percent to close at 361.36 basis points.

At the close of trading, the market recorded 34 gainers, 19 losers, and 64 unchanged. BETAGLAS topped the gainers list, while ELLAHLAKES topped the list of losers.
