Zamfara CJTF charged to assist Army in onslaught against terrorists

The Nigeria Army in Zamfara State has again established a cordial relationship with the Civilian Joint Task Force, CJTF to strengthen the security in the state.

This was disclosed by the Commander, 1 Brigade Nigerian Army, Gusau, Brigadier, General Sani Ahmed, who donated 100 sets of Communication Radio walkie-talkies to members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, CJTF.

This was contained in a press statement signed and made available to newsmen in Gusau, by the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Captain Yahaya Ibrahim.

The statement said the military was very much ready to quell the ongoing banditry in the state.

In his remarks, the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Sani Ahmed, said the donation of the Radios is part of his Corporate social responsibilities to the host communities and to enhance the operational capacity of the Civilian Joint Task Force, CJTF in the state.

He explained that the radios will aid the CJTF in carrying out their responsibilities of securing lives and property in their respective communities effectively.

The Commander also lauded the roles of the CJTF in protecting their communities and urged them to make maximum good use of the communication gadgets to enhance their operational capacity and to ensure adequate protection of lives and property within their various communities in the state.

He reiterated the respect for human rights and urged the CJTF not to indulge in extra-judicial killing while carrying out their responsibilities. He also charged the CJTF to share information amongst themselves to improve their level of alertness in their communities.

Earlier, the Chairman, Civilian Joint Task Force, Ahmed Mohammed commended the Commander 1 Brigade for his noble gestures and recognizing the efforts of the CJTF, saying that they had earlier received motorcycles from the Commander to support their operations.

He assured the Commander that the Communication Radios will greatly enhance their operational activities, assuring that they will operate according to rules and regulations and with respect to human rights.
