Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s anointed candidate, Yusuf Falgore, has emerged as Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly.
Falgore, a member of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) representing the Rogo Constituency, enjoyed the overwhelming support of his colleagues, including those from the opposition.
Our correspondent reports that his emergence comes after his nomination by a member representing Dala Constituency, Lawal Hussaini, and Musa Kachako, a member representing Takai Constituency seconding.
Muhammad Butu-Butu also emerged as the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly.
The new speaker and his deputy have been sworn in by the acting clerk of the House, Ali Maje.
