The Jigawa State Government has donated food and relief items to the Christian association of Nigeria (CAN) to mark the Christmas and New year celebrations in the State.
This was disclosed by the Jigawa State Commissioner for special Duties, Alh Auwalu Sankara who confirmed this to NewsDirect shortly after receiving the CAN Chairman Jigawa State chapter in his office.
The Commissioner explained that the essence of donating the gesture is to make their relationship solid and maintain the habits of togetherness between the government and non-indigene in the state, especially the Christian Brothers.
He explained further that it is part of a government effort which annually did to Muslim during fasting and Sallah festivities.
He explained that the Jigawa State Government is the Government for all and it gives equal treatment to its people without tribal or ethnic, religious sentiment.
He added that the Jigawa State government is an inclusive government which carries people along where Christian and Muslim live together in a peaceful society.
The Commissioner said that the donations given to the association include Rice, maize, and spaghetti which was distributed to their members to celebrate Christmas and New year.
He also thanked Christians and the CAN association who live in peace with Muslim Brothers naming Jigawa state as the major beneficiary of such mindset.
While responding the Jigawa State CAN Chairman Revaran Father Morris kole Hassan appreciated the Jigawa State government for the donation given them to celebrate the christmas and New year festival.
Mr Morris who was at the Government House today to show their appreciation to Governor Umar Namadi over the material given to them for Christmas and New year ceremony
Mr Morris also assured the State government that CAN in Jigawa State will continue supporting the Jigawa State government, and that they will do everything possible in promoting peace for the progress of the state.
He also expressed his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Umar Namadi for the kind consideration given to them .
He gave further assurances that the relief items given to them for Christmas have been distributed to their people across the five blocks of the 27 local government areas in the state under the umbrella of the Association.
