Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Christians in Osun State and beyond on the occasion of this year’s Christmas celebration, urging them to follow the example of Jesus Christ in demonstrating compassion and tolerance.

In a congratulatory message signed by his Spokesperson, Governor Adeleke described the birth of Jesus Christ as a defining moment for mankind and noted that the festive season serves as a solemn reminder of the power of love and its potential to save humanity.

While acknowledging that unity and togetherness are central messages of Jesus Christ’s life, Governor Adeleke called on the people of Osun, particularly Christians, to draw from the spiritual significance of the celebration by sharing love and fostering harmony within their communities.

“I extend my warm wishes to Christian faithful in Osun State and beyond as we mark this year’s Christmas. The birth of Jesus Christ is a manifestation of the power of love and reminds us of the essence of compassion,” the Governor stated in his message.

“In this season of celebration, I urge us to take a moment to reflect on the message of renewal that the birth of Jesus Christ signifies, promoting activities that unite rather than divide, build rather than destroy, and bring peace rather than conflict.”

Governor Adeleke further appealed for kindness to be extended to the needy and the vulnerable in society, emphasising that spreading love and generosity beyond borders is at the heart of Christmas. “It is essential that, at a time like this, no one is left to their fate.”

The Governor also highlighted his administration’s efforts to ease the challenges faced by the people of the state, noting that the implementation of the new minimum wage for workers and pensioners will ensure that many families can enjoy a joyful Christmas celebration.

“Across Osun State, workers are receiving credit alerts for the implementation of the new minimum wage in their accounts, and the approved welfare package for pensioners is being paid as a mark of our administration’s commitment to ensuring that families have no hindrance in celebrating Christmas.”

“Beyond welfare, our administration has invested heavily in improving the state’s road network, ensuring smooth travel for the people. We will continue to prioritise interventions that will have a positive impact on the lives of the people of Osun.”

While wishing the people of Osun a peaceful celebration and a prosperous 2025, Governor Adeleke assured them that his government will continue to pursue development projects, with plans for further investments in the wellbeing of Osun residents to drive progress in the coming year.
