The National Working Committee of the Youngs Progressives Party (YPP) has placed immediate suspension on it’s Benue State chapter party chairman , Dr Gwadue Hough, alongside other erring executives in the state.

The decision took effect following a recent purported endorsement of the PDP flagbearer, Rt Hon. Titus Uba by the Gwadue led EXCO in Makurdi.

Contained in a press release signed by Akosu Emmanuel and made available to Nigerian NewsDirect on Saturday, revealed that the NWC of the Party said the former Chairman’s conduct constituted illegality, gross misconduct and a flagrant disregard for the Party’s Constitution and the Creed it stands for in transforming the Nigerian state across board.

It added that, the candidacy of Chief Roberts Orya as the party’s flagbearer for Benue Governorship 2023, is ” a round peg in round hole ” which was diligently arrived at by the delegates and stakeholders of the party in Benue State to purposefully salvage the fast ailing economic and social conditions of the state through his populist BETS Policy document geared at ” transforming the state and improving the economic well being of her people “.

The NWC of the party says, the pedigree and credentials of the governorship candidate of the YPP, Chief Roberts Orya stands him out as the best amongst fellow contestants for the governorship , having earned a celebrated tract record of public service as the MD, NEXIM Bank who concurrently was elected president of Global Export- Import Banks and Development Finance Institutions (G- EXID) comprising of continents of Africa, Asia, and the Southern Hemisphere with headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.

Meanwhile, Forum of Benue State House of Assembly Contestants under the YPP as well as all the local government Excos of the Party have dissociated themselves from the position of the Gwadue – led SWC pledging unalloyed loyalty and solidarity for the party’s governorship candidate, Chief Roberts Orya as the leader of the party in the State.

Both forums describe the former state chairman’s conducts as illegal, unguided, undemocratic, indiscretionary and totally akin to the party’s best practices and pro-people manifesto which is hinged on youth emancipation for national development.

The former chairman , Dr Gwadue Hough has continued to make several appeals to the leader of the party in the state , Chief Roberts Orya pleading for forgiveness and reinstatement, but the YPP governorship insists a lawful disciplinary action must take it’s course to serve as deterrent to others.
