You’ve joined wrong club, weakened Man City – Carragher tells Haaland

Former Premier League star Jamie Carragher has said that Erling Haaland chose the wrong club in Manchester City.
He also said that the Norwegian’s presence in Pep Guardiola’s squad has weakened the team.
He said that Manchester City’s style of play could not get the best out of the prolific forward.
It was a difficult Sunday afternoon for the striker as he contributed almost nothing in Tottenham’s 1-0 win over Man City at the London Stadium.
Haaland has scored 25 goals in his first 20 league games, but Guardiola’s City are not the team they used to be.
Their defeat to Spurs on Sunday leaves them five points behind Arsenal at the top of the table.
“He [Haaland] may have actually picked the wrong club to get the best out of him,” the former England star said, insisting that not everything about the Norwegian goal machine is being seen on the pitch.
“He’s scored 25 league goals, but Manchester City as a team have scored the same amount of goals, but they’ve conceded more, and it’s far easier to counter-attack them as well.
“They’re a different team and a lesser team with Erling Haaland in the team…”
Manchester City paid a total sum of £51.2 million to bring Haaland from Borussia Dortmund to the Etihad last summer.
The 22-year-old signed a five-year deal to stay at City till 2027 and has been the star of the English top-flight.
