Youths Storm Osogbo to protest Mohbad’s death, set 3-day deadline to uncover killers
…As Oluwo calls for calm, says deceased’ll get justice

Some Youths on Wednesday evening stormed the city of Osogbo, capital of Osun State to protest the mysterious death of a young popular musician, Ilerioluwa Aloba popularly known as Mohbad.
The youths who gathered in their numbers at the Nelson Mandela freedom park, Osogbo wore black clothes and carried placards with various inscriptions such as; “#JusticeforMohbad,” “#WhoOffLight,” “#FG must act now” among others urged President Tinubu Tinubu and Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun to fish out the killer(s) of the deceased within three days.
Speaking at the protest ground, One of the conveners, Olusayo Ogunleye, said they embarked on the peaceful protest to demand justice for their brother, Mohbad, whose death they believe, requires more explanation.
“We are here to seek justice for our brother, Mohbad. Whoever had hands in his death must be apprehended and punished. We want justice for the deceased. We are here to demand for justice for our brother. We are giving the federal government and the Nigerian Police three days to fish out the killer(s).”
Meanwhile, the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Adewale Akanbi urged the lovers of late hop hop artist to remain calm, assuring them that Mohbad will get justice.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Alli Ibrahim, and made available to journalists on Wednesday, in Osogbo, Osun State capital, the monarch commiserated with the family of deceased, describing the death of the star hip-hop artist as a colossal loss to entire Yorubaland
He, however, asked the youths who have been embarking on a peaceful protest over the circumstances that surround his death to go back home warning that the protest might have been hijacked by the hoodlums
“The demise of the rising artist, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba popularly called Mohbad was a colossal loss to Yorubaland, Nigeria and the world at large. I commiserate with his immediate family and the entertainment industry.
“While calling on the government to ensure justice prevails on the circumstances surrounding his death, I appeal to the protesting youth to be calm, civil in their conduct and public demonstration. The ardent lovers of Mohbad are enjoined to leave the street and go home. The protest may be hijacked by hoodlums if not properly managed.
“Stakeholders are already working to ensure justice for Mohbad. The youth should cooperate with the government by conducting themselves in a peaceful manner
“Once again, may the soul of the departed Mohbad rest in peace.”
