Youth empowerment: NGO seeks robust synergy with NITT, Zaria

NGO, Kasham Girls, Women, Youth and Community Development Initiative, (KGWYCDI) has visited the Nigeria Institute of Transportation Technology, Zaria, in Kaduna state.

This is as the NGO said that the visit aimed at building synergy with the federal institution towards improving the quality of lives of young people through Economic Empowerment, upon which their core thematic area was built.

Speaking in Zaria, Kaduna state during the visit on Tuesday, the Executive Director, Kasham Girls Women Youth and Community Development Initiative, Dinatu Dama Maji noted that the foundation and the NITT Zaria, is seeking for common ground to sign a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU).

Dinatu further stressed that “when the MOU is signed it will cement an amazing partnership that will make massive impact in Nigeria, thereby building youths with the right marketable skill set, that can help them to be self reliant

“The meeting was aimed at building a synergy with this federal institution into improving the quality of lives of young people through Economic Empowerment which is our major thematic area.

“NITT, a transportation technology institution, saddled with the responsibility of training and educating young people into transport experts were delighted to have us and are open to having a collaboration with us in thematic areas that we share in common.

“For us at Kasham Girls, Women, Youth and Community Development, we are standing strong, steadfast and unmovable in our strive to see to the improvement, growth and great increase in the quality of lives of young people, and we won’t stop making moves that will bring to the growth and development of lives of youth either through partnerships or collaboration with different institutes and parastatals until our vision and mission is attained.

“The purpose of the visit is to have a robust understanding of the courses and some innovation that can bring the NGo and the institution together with the sole objective to impact youths in the 19 northern states where the NGo Kasham Girls Women Youth and Community Development Initiative operates.”

In his response, the Director General, Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology, Zaria appreciated the NGO for their resilience and quest to broaden their scope of works.

Represented by the Deputy Director General, Engr. Nduka Kanyine Godwin, the DG expressed gratitude for being recognised as the right institution for the NGO to partner, while adding that the institution will continue to do all it can to meet global standards.
