A former House of Representatives aspirant in the 2022 Primary Election of the All Progressives Congress in Ife Federal Constituency and publisher, Nigerian NewsDirect Newspaper, Dr. Samuel Ibiyemi has congratulated Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory in the 2023 presidential election as president-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
In a letter of congratulation he personally signed, Ibiyemi said the outcome of the election process had shown that Tinubu was the popular choice of Nigerians for the assignment.
“Your glittering track record of public service, foresight and grit in nation building and administration, as well as the courage you continue to demonstrate in fighting for the entrenchment of democracy in Nigeria make you worthy of the high esteem and trust of Nigerians and the party everywhere in Nigeria and abroad as exhibited at the presidential election,” the letter reads in part.
“I am elated and proud that the presidential election was manifestly free and fair, and conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission under a most convivial atmosphere. The outcome of the election process has shown that you are the popular choice of our party for that national assignment.
“I have no doubt that with your credentials, experience, antecedents and political sagacity, our great party went into the 2023 contest with confidence of overwhelming victory. Tinubu’s victory is a well-deserved one, considering his years of working for the entrenchment and strengthening of democracy in Nigeria.”
He said with his victory, APC government will continue to give dividends of democracy to the people, stating that Nigerians across the board recognised his contributions to national development.
Ibiyemi who described Tinubu as a dogged fighter who stood his ground to compete in the presidential election in a democratic manner, saying the presidential candidate remains a hero.
“Asiwaju had the capacity to provide the needed leadership that would consolidate the country’s democratic gains. The process of the APC presidential election was free, fair and credible. This, according to him, reaffirmed that the emergence of a Southern president would again establish ground for justice, fairness, unity and political stability of the nation”.
Ibiyemi charged Nigerians to remain united and focused as the country marches to another dispensation to treck path to greatness and well-being of Nigeria.
“Again, I congratulate you on your well-deserved victory as the president-elect of Federal Republic of Nigeria. I pray God to guide, guard you to paddle the ship of the country to the promised and new Nigeria.
