President Muhammadu Buhari has promised the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2021 Anambra State governorship election, Senator Andy Uba of his full support.
The president gave this assurance when he received Uba and other APC stalwarts at the state house in Abuja.
Buhari stated that he was interested in the candidate’s success at the polls.
He declared that, “I am happy to formally welcome you. I certainly wish you the best of luck. I’m anxious for your success, and will closely follow.”
The Chairman, Caretaker, and Convention Planning Committee of the APC and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni led the delegation to the President.
Those present at the visitation were Governors Gboyega Oyetola of Osun, Yahaya Bello of Kogi, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, and Hope Uzodinma of Imo, who is also Chairman, Campaign Council of the party for the polls scheduled for November 6.
Others were the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, and the Minister for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, George Akume.
Buni, at the event, expressed optimism that APC would emerge victorious at the polls while making reference to the recent defections of Senators Stella Oduah and Joy Emodi.
According to him, “Anambra is ripe for us, and we will work together for victory.”
Also, Gov. Uzodinma, as Chairman of the Campaign Council, toed the line of Buni and assured the President and all those present of victory for the APC.
He submitted that, “because of the integrity and honour you (President Buhari) have in Nigeria. Your name opens doors for us, and lots of people come into our party today because of it.
“By the grace of God, we will be successful,” Gov. Uzodinma concluded.
