Yobe traditional barbers beg govt for modern tools
The Nigerian Association of “Wanzamai” (traditional barbers), Yobe Chapter, has called on the State Government to support their trade with modern tools.
Alhaji Sa’idu Wanzam, the state Chairman of the association, made the appeal at the maiden meeting of the association on Saturday in Damaturu.
“I appeal to Yobe Government to train our members, especially the youth among us, on modern manner of operation and provide us with modern equipment to fit in with technological advancement,” he said.
He explained that for ages, they were known as professionals that specialised in herbal medicine, treating people’s infections, diseases and circumcision for children.
Wanzam also called on all members to collect their voter cards to enable the exercise 3their civic responsibility in the 2023 general elections.
He advised members to elect candidates who would value and improve their business.
Alhaji Isah Babayaro, the Secretary of the association, commended all members for their cooperation and enjoined them to remain united.
He commanded Gov. Mai Mala Buni for donating a utility bus for the association.
He said the members of the association were ever ready to support government policies and programmes for the development of the state.
