YABATECH appeals to partners for action on unfulfilled agreements

The Yaba College of Technology has urged its longstanding partners to take concrete steps towards implementing their agreements with the institution.

The Rector of the college, Dr Ibraheem Abdul, made this appeal during an interview with journalists on Wednesday in Lagos.

He emphasised that the appeal had become necessary as new partners had begun to engage with the institution.

Dr Abdul noted that while the college had established partnerships with various organisations, some had yet to act on their memoranda of understanding.

According to him, it is essential for these partners to honour their commitments and bring their agreements to fruition.

“When new partners observe the actions and contributions of existing partners, they will be encouraged to actively participate as well.

“Ultimately, it is a shared responsibility to develop a workforce that meets global standards in competence, creativity, and innovation. Collaborations and linkages are crucial in achieving this goal,” he stated.

Dr Abdul highlighted that the institution recently held an industry-academic joint dialogue to strengthen its relationship with industries and expand its professional network.

The Rector reaffirmed the college’s commitment to supporting students by encouraging them to take advantage of opportunities, including internships, to develop their skills.

He further disclosed that plans were underway for a curriculum review to align the institution’s programmes with industry needs, ensuring that students are well-equipped for the evolving job market.
