WPD: Postmaster General Odeyemi states that Tinubu will revitalize NIPOST

The Postmaster General of the Federation and Chief Executive of the Nigerian Postal Service, Tola Odeyemi, has reiterated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is committed to revolutionizing the country’s postal sector.

Odeyemi disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday to mark this year’s World Post Day.

Commenting on this year’s theme, “150 years of enabling communication and empowering peoples across nations,” she said that it is not just to mark an occasion but to honor a legacy—a legacy that spans 150 years.

This is as Odeyemi unveiled the NIPOST Agency Banking Solution (POTMONI) as part of the activities slated to mark 2024 WPD.

“The Federal Government, through the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), has, as a matter of priority, reiterated its commitment to the evolution of the Nigerian Postal Service, leveraging technology and ensuring that the postal system remains nationally relevant and globally competitive.

“As part of the activities to mark this year’s celebration, we are unveiling the NIPOST Agency Banking Solution (POTMONI)—aimed at bringing accessible, convenient, and affordable financial services to Nigerians nationwide and from any location across the globe. POSTMONI: An Electronic Money Order Solution customized for NIPOST to connect for the greatness of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the advancement of the Nigerian Postal Service,” she stated.

Earlier, the Director General of the Universal Postal Union, Masahiko Metoki, said UPU is leading the way in the modernization of the postal sector globally.
