His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife has numerous achievements attached to his name since he filled the exalted stool as the 51st Ooni of Ife four years ago.
The Ooni is a perfect example of a true leader who has brought about great unity in Yoruba land and also extending it to other tribes within the period he ascended the throne.
He has outstanding leadership attributes and achievements; he is called the wound healer because he has successfully sealed the rift within the Yoruba states.
Briefly after his coronation, the Ooni of Ife brought about a major change in the history of Yoruba land by bringing about unity which has been torn apart by politics and ego. On ascension to the throne, he visited the alaafin of Oyo, Modakeke, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III and Oba Sikiru Adetona the paramount ruler of Ijebuland with the motive of projecting unity and love which existed in time past within the Yoruba State.
He recently paid a visit to Brazil, a nation which houses the largest number of Africans outside the continent with the aim of fostering peace and unity among Africans in Diaspora, and also, he proclaimed Bahia a city in Brazil the headquarters of Yoruba Nation in America as a move to reuniting all descendants of Yoruba race.
The peace and unity mantra of the Ooni has placed Nigeria on a high pedestrian among other nations.
The Ooni has a great passion for his home town and country bringing about various transformations to Ife starting with the power project followed by the project to reawaken cultural values and responsibilities among Nigeria youths through the introduction of Queen Moremi Ajasoro (QMA) beauty pageant as well as other sustainable development projects.
Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi recently got into a partnership with Arab business mogul, Sharif Ahmad Bin Jaber Al Natour to discuss various areas of possible alliance which will bring about massive employment for Nigeria youths.
He is also a philanthropist, catering for countless less privileged children and youths with numerous youths benefiting from his scholarship platform, in the last two years.
He has awarded scholarship to about 300 secondary school students and also paid for the WEAC Examination of about 100 across southwest.
With a background in accountancy and real estate, the Ooni has major success records in both sectors, so of the achievements includes development of over 2, 500 housing units within the last 10 years.
Essential Homes which provides middle and low income earners with affordable luxury homes, development of the Northern Foreshore Estate, Cityscape International Limited’s Buena Vista project in Lekki, Primewaterview Limited’s projects, Westcom Limited’s projects, the Ajaokuta Steel’s and Delta Steel’s resuscitation projects.
He is also a board member at the Imperial Homes Mortgage Bank Limited, an active member in the Real Estate Institute (GRI), a certified member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and of the Institute of Management.
Few out of the awards given to him after his coronation include: Honorary Doctorate degree in Public Administration at the Ekiti State University in 2018, The Tell Man of the Year in 2017, Grand patron Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU) 2017, Oodua Business Ambassador Award in 2016, Prestigious Congressional Recognition award at the Congressional Black Caucus reception, 2017 independent bridge-builder by the independent management team.
