The Media Office of the Osun State Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has cautioned a pressure group under the party called The Osun Progressives(TOP) to desist from disturbing the peace of the state in general and Osogbo, the state capital, in particular.
This warning was sequel to the gun shots that pervaded the Oranmiyan House, which served as the former campaign office of the Internal Affairs Minister but now harbours the self-styled TOP under the patronship of Mr Rauf Aregbesola.
The Media Office in a statement issued by Kola Olabisi, Media Aide To the state chairman-elect of the party, Prince Gboyega Famodun, in Osogbo today stated that it was a pity that the self-styled chairman of the pressure group called TOP, one Elder Biyi Adelowo, could be apportioning blame where it didn’t belong when he alleged the Ilerioluwa Campaign Group of being responsible for the attack on the Oranmiyan House that doubles as the state secretariat of their rebellious political group yesterday.
As a professed man of God, Elder Adelowo should be bold enough to tell the world whom the self-acclaimed street man financier of the infamous TOP is.
The obviously confused TOP chairman who does not know the next priority in his political life except inheritance of another person’s enemy should be bold enough to tell the world the actual reason why some members of his militant group had to slug it out with them at the TOP secretariat owned by Aregbesola.
The disgruntled elements called TOP faithful should know that the metaphorical shroud of their hurriedly-buried corpse has been exposed as the story of how the leadership of the infamous group shortchanged their members in a N150 million largesse from their political allies in the Osun West Senatorial District of the state, is in the public domain.
A version of the incident learnt that it was the ‘edition’ of the political largesse down the line by the TOP handlers during their get-together held at a liquor joint in Ogooluwa area of Osogbo on the day that the credible state congress was publicly held at the Osogbo City Stadium that some of their members are detesting which snowballed into the said attack.
It is quite uncharitable and frivolous for any sane mind to accuse Governor Gboyega Oyetola and Prince Famodun, the twosome that cannot hurt a fly, of masterminding any violence in the state.
It would be recalled that some of the principal members of the said TOP have never failed to acknowledge the gentle nature of Governor Oyetola in their television and radio interviews; a rare leadership quality which had been copiously attested to by the immediate-past governor of the state.
The searchlight of those who were likely to be responsible for the said attack should be beamed on the financier of their group who had copiously described himself as a street boy who perpetually lives in the trenches.
To discerning political minds in the society, the said questionable attack appears stagemanaged in order to unduly curry the sympathy of the innocent members of the public.
If not that it was stagemanaged, why was it that the controversial attack took place when the civil defence officers bolted away from their usual duty post at the Oranmiyan House during the attack?
Based on the foregoing, it is advised for the embattled TOP chairman to look inward for the likely hoodlums who attacked the former Aregbesola Campaign Office while we would continue to pray for the change of mind for the disenchanted political group of the progressives extraction to enable them see the light before it’s too late.
