We’re constructing modern bus terminals to improve transportation in FCT – Wike
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Mr. Nyesom Wike, has announced the construction of three top-tier bus and taxi terminals aimed at enhancing the territory’s transportation system.
Wike made this announcement during the launch of a new terminal for the Central Business District in Abuja on Monday. According to the newsmen, he had previously inaugurated two other terminals in Mabushi and Kugbo.
Wike emphasised that these projects are designed to integrate and improve the city’s transportation network. He highlighted that the terminals will address issues related to “one chance” crimes and other security concerns in public transportation.
He further noted that, with President Bola Tinubu’s backing, the FCT Administration (FCTA) is expanding road infrastructure in the territory. The expanded roads will connect to the new bus terminals, facilitating smoother commuter movement across the city.
The minister indicated that the three terminal projects are expected to be completed by 2025, aligning with Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.
FCT Minister of State Dr. Mariya Mahmoud expressed her belief that these world-class terminals would transform Abuja’s transportation network. She encouraged celebrating this significant milestone and reiterated the commitment to successfully completing the projects.
“May these terminals stand as a testament to our city’s progress and our dedication to enhancing public services,” Mahmoud added.
