Osun State Commissioner of Police, Olawale Olokode, has warned EndSARS protesters that the police will not condone gatherings that will hamper the peace of residents and citizens of the State.

This is just as the CP cautioned against deliberate blocking of roads, molestation of residents and citizens as well as the destruction of lives and property.

Olokode stated the above in a press statement signed and released by the Police PRO, SP Yemisi Opalola on Friday.

According to the CP, “Some unscrupulous elements are planning to embark on unlawful gathering, in solidarity with EndSARS protesters elsewhere, to take over the space on Saturday 13th February, 2021, in some parts of the state.

Urging the protesters to jettison the plan, he said, “gathering of any sort now is unlawful and a violation of COVID-19 laws.”

“The Command will not condone any act that will jeopardise the peace and tranquillity presently enjoyed in the state.

“Be warned also that, the Command will not tolerate deliberate blocking of roads to impede free-flow of human and vehicular movements, molestation of innocent members of the public and destruction of any kind. This will be resisted decisively,” he added.

He enjoined parents and guardians to warn their children or wards against act capable of causing the breach of peace in the state.

The CP assured that “adequate security measures have been emplaced for maximum security of lives and property”, urging citizens to go about their lawful business without fear of molestations.
