We are making efforts to address fuel scarcity in Bauchi — NMDPRA
The Bauchi office of the Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Athourity (NMDPRA), said it is making frantic efforts to mitigate the long queues in petroleum stations.
Malam Abdullahi Iliyasu, the operations controller of the agency, made this known in Bauchi on Tuesday.
He said the daily allocation of petroleum from depots has been increased from the less than 30 trucks per day to between 45 and 46 trucks for onward delivery to designated petroleum outlets.
He said the agency is working closely with the security agencies to ensure that no diversion or hoarding of the product or indiscriminate selling of fuel to operators of black markets.
The Controller called for cooperation and understanding from the people of the state as efforts are being made to address the situation, saying this is a nationwide situation.
Recall that petrol is being sold at between N240 and N275 per litre across some filling stations while few others are selling at the official price of N165 but with long queues of vehicles waiting to refuel.
